| Customer Reviews: Amazing August 8, 2009 Mom of four (Maryland) I can't believe my tomato plants this year - they are doing great! Two fertilizer spikes per plant - they couldn't be easier to use - and my plants are remarkably bigger and more productive than the ones I didn't feed. Maybe other plant food is cheaper, but these are exceptionally convenient and very effective.

I absolutely love this product. I used to live in Louisiana, now I live in Pittsburgh. I order my Jobes spikes online in early spring so that I have plenty to get myself started, and a few extra packs so I can re-apply every 7-8 weeks. I stick them in around the tomatos when I plant the seedlings, and there is nothing more to say. SUCCESS!!!! I recommend them to everyone. I have never heard of anyone being unsuccessful.
TWO THUMBS UP!!!

I've been an avid gardener for many years and have been using these tomato spikes almost that long. These fertilizer spikes are a good way to add nutrients to your plants as they usually last for most of the gardening summer (at least where I've lived in California and Arizona) and once in place, you don't need to worry about having to fertilize the plants any more.
I *plant* them at the same time I put the tomato transplants in the garden -- at least two and sometimes three or four spikes per plant. Because of the high amount of Phosphate (24) in these spikes (the middle number of the fertilizer breakdown of 8-24-8) the plants produce lots and lots of flowers which means lots and lots of tomatoes.
A few years ago I started using them on bell pepper plants, also. Same result: lots and lots of flowers and lots and lots of peppers. IMHO, most fertilizers that stress Phosphate and don't have so much Nitrogen in them (the first 8 in the above formula) will probably produce the same result, but it's the convenience of the spikes that make this product really worth buying.
They seem to be so popular that they fly off the shelves as soon as they are made available when the weather warms up, and if I don't buy them as soon as I see them, they're gone right away. So I started buying on-line so I'll have them when I need them. You might check the gardening sites also for better pricing and cheaper shipping. I just ordered several packs.
